The assembly incorporates both an inner clear visor and an outer dark visor which attach to each other and to the helmet by means of snap fasteners. The straps are black nylon and elastic fabric equipped with adjustment buckles. Black beading is cemented to the top edge of the lenses. The lenses are trimmed to conform to the MBU-12/P oxygen mask configuration.

The visor kit comes with a visor cover. The visor cover is a contoured, black sewn leather assembly. It has a chamois backing and hook fastener tape inside each end to mate with the loop fastener tape on the lens straps. The cover protects the lens during removal, replacement, transport, and storage while installed on the helmet.
