The HGU-68 is a lightweight combat proven helmet designed to meet the rigorous requirements in today's high-g environment of the Navy and Marine Corps F-18 Super Hornet. The single track visor system on the HGU-68 provides the lowest possible profile and meets the Navy's 600 knot requirements.
The impact resistant polycarbonate lens slides easily and locks securely on the left side. A size large HGU-68 with Super Comfort Liner, earphones, communications cord, and oxygen mask receivers weighs only 37-ounces (1.048 grams). Helmets include a leather edge roll, comfortable leather ear pads, a one-piece integrated chin-and-nape strap, a dark lens installed on the helmet, and a spare clear lens.
