The Expedition is a precise replica of a jacket you’ve seen in a popular film. We found an original in Hollywood and duplicated every detail including the pattern, and hardware. Then we asked three experts to criticize it. We incorporated their suggestions into our design, and now the Expedition jacket is absolutely correct.

Gibson & Barnes makes the Expedition from chrome-tanned, drum-dyed, semi-aniline, top-grade leather. Its twill lining will give years of wear and stay comfortable even in humid weather. The smooth-sliding zipper is solid brass with a bell pull. The adjustable side straps even have the original black-oxide rectangular D-rings.

The Expedition has a four-piece action back and open barrel cuffs so you can move freely and quickly. There is even an action back in the lining. The storm flap and side vent straps keep out the wind when the weather turns blustery. And, at the end of a tough day, you can hang it up by its strong leather hangar.

The collar has a 3/4-inch-wide leather stand so it rolls over perfectly. You can stow your gear in two generous snap-shut pockets and keep your hands warm in the hidden side-entry pockets. There’s even an inside wallet pocket for your passport and steamship tickets.

* Keeping with the originality of the garment, the zipper-pull is reversed. It is on the left side as opposed to the American right side.
