« Back to productsArmy Air ForcesArmy Air Force leather patch
In the early years of the war in the Pacific, American planes wore a white star with a red circle. The red circle was removed to avoid combat confusion with the rising sun.
Our Army Air Force patch is made from six different leather pieces; leathers indigenous to the China-Burma-India theatre, including a dark blue suede cowhide background, white, red and tan goatskin for the star and wings, and russet brown calfskin for the border.
